Hello everyone! You will notice the lack of video here and that is because this is not our normal update. Our normal video update is still in the process of being made and will be sent out, Lord willing, in a week or so. The purpose of this note is to pass along a very personal request to you.

We are praising the Lord that in this past week we have officially breeched the 70% level in our monthly support. That means we have raised $4600 of our needed $6600 of monthly support. That amount goes toward our living and ministry expenses in Brazil. We are in the home stretch of fund raising and our departure to Brazil is getting closer! We will not be able to leave for Brazil until we have raised 100% of our required support.

Here is where the personal request comes in. While we are busy ministering and presenting in churches, we also want to give individuals the opportunity to partner with us financially if they choose. I am aware that committing to a long term monthly donation can be daunting. What I am suggesting is that those who are interested would consider partnering with us at $25 a month. Highlights:

• Support level is doing good. We have raised $4500 of monthly support (70%)!
• We have moved our target date for leaving to Brazil to June 2009. This dates works better logistically for both our family and the team we are going in Brazil.
• Please pray that God will open new doors for support and that we will have the persistence to get to those doors of opportunity.
• Pray that God will allow us to be fruitful during this time in both discipleship and evangelistic relationships.
• Pray that God’s love which casts out our fears will be our focus during this exciting yet unpredictable time in our lives.

Prayer update:

Here are some things to be praying about:

• The flooded out people of Iowa. I work for a carpet cleaning/flood restoration company and have seen some pretty bad/sad situations. Most of the people I interacted with were facing thousands of dollars of damage with no insurance. Pray that the Church would rise up in this situation for the glory of God.
• Safety in our travels. We are logging MANY miles and hours on the road.
• Open doors to present our ministry. This fall is going to be a crucial time for us and we need the Lord to open doors. Right now we still have a lot of open weekends.
• Both Teresa and I are working with young/brand new believers. Continue to pray for their growth and our patience.
